Measham SuDS
Role: Landscape Architect
Clients: Robert Bray Associates/Trent Rivers Trust.
This project saw the creation of two retrofit SuDS projects, commissioned by the Trent Rivers Trust.
The Leisure Centre was given a new entrance - by extending two (failed) tree pits to create large, circular raingardens that were joined with a timber pedestrian bridge. To the rear of the Leisure Centre, a biodiverse wetland swale - using only native species such as Iris and Lythrum - now acts as a colourful
backdrop to the full height glazing of the meeting rooms.
Wigeon Drive - a residential cul-de-sac that borders amenity green space and also the flood plain of the river Mease - was re-fitted with colourful, biodiverse, shallow and safe basins - capable of trapping and treating pollutants from the road at a critical proximity to the river.
